Or any other distro
I recently gave in and decided to buy a 5070Ti to replace my aging RX5700XT. I hesitated for a long time given the prohibitive GPU prices, but eventually pulled the trigger.
Honestly, I would have preferred going with an AMD card, but the lack of HDMI 2.1 support in the open-source driver was too problematic and pushed me toward Nvidia. Since the PC is connected to my TV for a console-like experience, DisplayPort was not an option. The inconsistent quality of DP → HDMI adapters ultimately convinced me to go with the green team.

…or at least, it shuts up and leaves me alone.
TCL and update hell
I recently got a TCL MiniLED 75-inch TV (c89b for France, c855 for the rest of Europe) for about 3 times less than an OLED of the same size — the value for money is truly excellent. But the Chinese aren’t quite there yet when it comes to update policies. Since unboxing it in 2024, I’ve had only 1 single update: v412. If you browse the forums you’ll see the mess — some countries got v420, some updates cause bugs on certain models but not others, and there are updates floating around the internet that never make it into the official pipeline.

Here we go again, another ramble about a product that could have been good, but instead gets all the bells and whistles of enshittification. The title gives it all, let’s talk about my open-back headphone, the Corsair Virtuoso Pro.
I fucking hate this product, not because it’s outright bad, no, but because it’s so close, so close to being a good, maybe excellent product, it gets on my nerves. Corsair Virtuoso Pro. Pro! I mean, not RGB, not wireless RGB, not gaming Raptor X wireless RGB. No, pro!
The design is sober and elegant, all reviews talk about good build quality and it feels, from a marketing point of view, that when a company takes this kind of move and disrupts their habits, they want to attack something. A new market, a niche, a product for enthusiasts and they try by doing (or trying to do) a good job and on paper they did good. Well… on paper.
